The official video for Coleen McMahon’s song “Beautiful Boy” featured in the film “Bridegroom”
Shane Bitney Crone posted on Facebook today video of the song Beautiful Boy which was part of his documentary Bridegroom. It is written and performed by dear friend Coleen McMahon and I’m happy to share it here along with her video of Brave which I found on YouTube.
Writes Shane: ‘This song is immensely special to me, for numerous reasons, but most importantly I think it is a song that reminds us about the fragility of life, and how we should cherish each moment with our loved ones.”
Coleen writes: A little over two years ago, I lost one of my best friends in a tragic and sudden accident. His name was Tom Bridegroom. It was one of the most heart breaking times in my life to this day. I still cannot believe he is gone. I am dedicating this song I wrote, entitled “Beautiful Boy” to Tom and all of those who have lost someone close to them.
Of the Brave video, Coleen writes: ‘My best friend, Shane Bitney Crone and I were recently moved by the song “Brave” (originally recorded by Sara Bareilles). The message of this song is to be proud of who you are and brave enough to stand up for what you believe in. We felt inspired to record our own version of the song and make a silly video in hopes of furthering this message. We hope you like it :)”

We played Coleen’s song at our son’s funeral. Liam was one year old, and died suddenly in his sleep. Which was later unexplained. He was such a beautiful boy.
