“The Normal Heart” now out on DVD – see it now!
If you have not seen the film that won the Emmy on Sunday for Best TV Movie, then do rent or buy it and see what all the fuss is about.
You will be so enthralled by Mark Rufallo’s impassioned performance and devastated by Matt Bomer’s. You will see Jim Parsons in a role far from Sheldon Cooper and Julia Roberts give one of the strongest performances of her career.
You will wonder how none of them won Emmys, you will wonder how Ryan Murphy did not win for his skillful direction and most of all, you will wonder why in the hell Larry Kramer did not win for screenplay.
But in the end, the film got made and it is stellar and it is important and it can teach people about a terrible time not so long ago and how dying gay people were treated in this country.
And amid this horror, heroes emerge – heroes like Larry Kramer.

Daniel Lewis Frommherz says:
Thanks for the heads up Greg on this film, The Normal Heart. I accidently caught it on HBO this summer and immediately started a search for the DVD. While this note is not a sales pitch for the seller Barnes & Noble I received word by e-mail on Friday that they have shipped the DVD to my home on Friday 29/8/14. Amazon is also plugging this film but B & N got there first and they ship free of charge with a pre-payment. Thinking back to those early days of the epidemic, to the many close friends that I personally lost and the early warning from my friend Randy Shilts of what could happen if something like this were to happen long before it devestated our community.
