“The Ellen DeGeneres Show” wins 7th Daytime Emmy for outstanding entertainment talk show
I didn’t attend this year’s Daytime Emmys at the Beverly Hilton because I wanted to spend Father’s Day with my dad.
But it looks like it was a great show and below is a full list of the winners.
Since all things LGBT are of particular interest to me, I want to highlight the fact that In the competitive entertainment talk show category, The Ellen DeGeneres Show won for the seventh time!
Let’s remember that when Ellen DeGeneres came out as a lesbian 16 years ago on her sitcom and in real life, ABC canceled her show at the end of the season.
Now Ellen is in the midst of one of the must successful runs on daytime television anyone has ever had.
The show’s executive producer Mary Connolly said as she accepted the award: “Ten years ago the idea of Ellen DeGeneres hosting a talk show made a lot of people nervous. We hope people realize 10 years later that there’s absolutely nothing to be nervous about.”
Well said Mary!

I actually really like “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen” on the Food Network. I didn’t think I would, but I like her sense of humor.
