KILLER CAST: It was so great to be at PaleyFest 2010 last night where the cast of Dexter had a panel discussion about season four after a screening of the season’s Thanksgiving episide.  Julie Benz, whose character of Rita was murdered in the season finale, joined the cast for the event. She is now on ABC’s Desperate Housewives, as we all know, playing lesbian stripper Robin.

“Listen, I’ve been 25 years an actress and you have your ups and you have your downs,” she told me before the start of the panel. “You just have to have perseverance and you have to have faith that you have a job coming and I’ve been very lucky and I feel very blessed and I have a great support team around me – people who sometimes believe in me more than I believe in me. It’s just been a great journey.”

It was great to see Michael C. Hall in such good spirits. The Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award winning star told the crowd that he is nearly done with his treatments for Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

“I’m great on the health front,” he told the crowd.

I chatted with just about the entire cast on the press line last night including Brando Eaton, Desmond Harrington, C.S. Lee, Lauren Velez, David Zayas and outgoing executive producer Clyde Phillips. Look for interviews with some of them in the coming days. Jennifer Carpenter, Hall’s real-life wife who plays Dexter’s sister on the show, was also on the panel.
