‘The Carol Burnett Show’ finally goes digital!

For the first time ever, four volumes of the legendary television series The Carol Burnett Show are available in a digital format, Time Life announced today.

Fans can now enjoy this beloved series – one of my all-time favorites – exclusively for digital download on iTunes.

Says Burnett: “Through Time Life’s passionate efforts, we’ve reached so many fans, both new and old as the wagon wheel. At last, our little variety show takes its place on devices.”

The Best of The Carol Burnett Show, Volumes 1-4 includes four volumes of 15 episodes each, hand-picked by Burnett herself in partnership with Time Life, and presented in production order from seasons six through 11:

Volume 1 contains 15 episodes from the 6th and 7th seasons (1972-1973). These episodes feature uproarious guest appearances from Carl Reiner, Lily Tomlin, Tim Conway, Jack Gilford, John Byner, Andy Griffith and Helen Reddy. Fan favorite sketches include “Rebecky” (the movie take off of Rebecca), “Carol & Sis,” “Nora Desmond,” and “Snow White: 15 Years Later.”

Volume 2 contains 15 episodes from the 7th and 8th seasons (1973-1975). It features hysterical guest appearances from Ruth Buzzi, Steve Lawrence, Joel Grey, Vincent Price, Bernadette Peters, Jim Nabors, Alan Alda, and The Smothers Brothers. Includes recurring fan favorite sketches “Stella Toddler” and “The Family,” plus “La Cuperucita Roja” (Little Red Riding Hood) and musical performances by The Pointer Sisters and The Jackson 5!

Volume 3 contains 15 episodes from the 8th, 9th and 10th seasons (1975-1976). It features exuberant guest appearances from Jean Stapleton, Phil Silvers, Shirley MacLaine, Maggie Smith, Joanne Woodward, Dick Van Dyke, Tony Randall, Jack Klugman and Madeline Kahn. Includes recurring fan favorite sketches “Tudball & Wiggins” and “The Family,” plus “Cinderella Gets It On.”

Volume 4 contains 15 episodes from the 10th and 11th seasons (1976-1978). It features sidesplitting guest appearances from Roddy McDowall, Alan King, Betty White, Eydie Gorme, Ken Berry, Helen Reddy and Steve Martin. Fan favorite sketches include “As the Stomach Turns,” “The Oldest Man” and many more.
