The 2011 Greggys will be unveiled soon!

Hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas!

Just want to let you know that starting tomorrow and through New Year’s Day, Greg In Hollywood will unveil the annual Greggys.

So they aren’t as famous as the Emmys, the Oscars, the Tonys or even the People’s Choice Awards,  the Greggys were mighty appreciated by some of last year’s winners who included Kathy Griffin (Straight Ally of the Year), Jane Lynch and Neil Patrick Harris (Stars of the Year), Eric Sheffer Stephens (Soap Star of the Year), Chely Wright (Coming Out Story of the Year), and Darrin Criss (New Star of the Year).

You do these things but don’t know if the “winners” are even aware of them. It’s not like Greg In Hollywood has the budget to hold a Greggy Award ceremony and hire Neil Patrick Harris to host!

But I found out some of the choices become aware of the award and are grateful. Eric Sheffer Stephens sent me a nice email last year, Kathy Griffin was very grateful when I ran into her at the BAFTA LA party in February then last March, I bumped into Darren Criss in the lobby of the office complex I was working at and he gave me a big, heartfelt bear hug that absolutely made my day!

Anyway, tomorrow, the unveiling will begin!

* The Greggys logo was designed by my former Daily News colleague Sharon Kaplan! I’m going to ask if she can update the year on it so I can use it again this year! I love it.
