Now, in Netflix’s new documentary, Chris & Martina: The Final Set, the two legends reflect on how that fierce on-court competition evolved into a lifelong friendship shaped by mutual respect, shared history, and parallel battles with cancer.

Speaking to Rich Kleiman for the latest episode of Boardroom Talks, Evert and Navratilova revisit iconic moments from their rivalry, including the emotional 1984 US Open final, while also opening up about how their competitive mindset carried them through cancer diagnoses and treatment. Navratilova reflects on resilience and taking life “day by day,” while Evert shares how her outlook shifted to simply “keep going” and focus on living fully after her Stage 1 ovarian cancer diagnosis in 2021.
