Support Tom Goss Kickstarter campaign for bold new “Territories” album & music video

Readers of this site know that I’m just a huge fanboy when it comes to Tom Goss.

He’s so talented and soulful as we’ve seen in videos and songs like Rise, Lover, I Do, Bears, Son of a Preacher Man, Mama, More Than Temporary, and Gay Christmas.

Tom has launched a new Kickstarter campaign for his most ambitious project to date. He’s hoping to raise $30,000 to fund the production of a new album and music video tentatively titled Territories.

It represents a real departure from his earlier work both in terms of sound and subject. The songs were written in and written about a number of cities Tom has traveled to in the past year and are about the complex tangle of emotions that accompany different types of love.

The sound, being developed in partnership with Barcelona-based producer Ian Carmichael, is much darker and electronic than Tom’s previous work.

He writes: “Territories is the most complex and evocative storytelling I have ever undertaken. You’ve grown to know me as a troubadour of love — that has not, and will never, change. But in Territories I push that to a whole new level, seeking to map previously unexplored areas of love. That requires venturing into the unknown, places full of excitement and mystery and fear, rather than claiming to understand with certainty what love is.”
