Sunday Videos: Golden Globe diva flashbacks with Elizabeth Taylor, Cher, Bette, Liza, and Streisand

The Golden Globe Awards have always been one of my favorite award shows to watch because there are so many stars there and everyone seems so relaxed – maybe even tipsy!

It’s always a great Globes when one of my favorite gay icons takes home something and I remember 1985 so well when Elizabeth Taylor was presented with the Cecil B. Demille Lifetime Achievement Award.

My pal Luke and I watched it on a little black and white TV in his dorm room and when Miss Taylor took to the stage, Luke – a guy’s guy jock – said, “She looks like a queen!”

I knew then, gay or straight (he turned out to be straight), that Luke and I would be friends for life – and we have been!

Anyway, to get you warmed up for tonight’s Globes, here are some of our divas getting their Globes including Barbra, Liza, Bette and, of course, Cher.
