2 Remarks

  1. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out who would got to see Wanda and not expect just that. If I were of the Trump supporting lifestyle, I’d say that it seems like they were planted there to make news!

But, I’m not, so I’ll just say there are some dumb people in this world going to see a black, lesbian comedienne during a time of national social strife and expect her to not touch on it.

  2. I’ve loved Russell Tovey since first seeing him on “Doctor Who” and “Being Human”, and what he said about Jack Whitehall is true. If gay men want to be cast as characters regardless of the orientation of the character, then straight men should be allowed the same thing. I am strongly against characters being whitewashed because white supposedly will sell more tickets than non-white (tell that to “Black Panther”), but as a gay man who’s done a lot of community theater, I have never played a gay character, yet I was still damn good (especially as the Scarecrow in “Wizard of Oz”, LOL). The idea that a straight guy couldn’t play a gay character is frankly offensive to me, as if straight people couldn’t possibly understand what it is like to be attracted to someone of the same gender. Love is love. Straight, gay, bisexual, asexual, or any other manufactured label aside, love is love.
