I agree with Juan and Peter. I believe it boils down to the work. Can you portray what the project is asking for. One being gay/straight is mute. But the real question is will the casting director hire someone who is LGBTQ despite them being able to do the job required. Let history show yes we can.

Maybe I was over all that years ago. I don’t see this as an issue. Forever there have bee gay individuals playing everyday roles. Maybe it was different when none of them were out. Now, when people come out, this draws some sort of line. Again, who cares who one goes home to at night? People who have never boxed play prize fighters, people who have never played baseball play sports stars, etc. There are as many different types of gay people as straight people. I may be gay, but I don’t see all gay people as being all kumbaya, with lots of togetherness. For me, I’m attracted to masculinity. Femininity has no place or interest in my world. It just happens to be my preference. Lots of people, gay or straight, have no place in my world.
