Sue Sylvester to get married on “Glee”
We don’t know if she and the groom will wear matching track suits but we do know that Glee’s Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) will be getting married sometime this season.
The Emmy winning Lynch, who in real-life married Dr. Lara Embry over Memorial Day weekend, tells People that the wedding will take place over the next 3 or 4 episodes.
It must be a quick courtship since Sue has been very single all season long. We know she will marry a man since the character, unlike the actress, is not a lesbian.
“Sue gets married – that’s all I’m going to tell you,” Lynch said at the BAFTA/LA’s Brittania Awards where she participated in honoring Betty White. “I probably shouldn’t have said anything!”
She spoke of some other future episodes including a few with Gwyneth Paltrow: “I did a couple of scenes with Gwyneth. She’s got the goods. She can sing, she can dance. I really was [blown away]. I saw them doing a mash-up of Singin’ in the Rain and Umbrella, and they are singing and dancing their hearts out, and Gwyneth is leading them. She’s amazing. She’s a substitute teacher for Will [Matthew Morrison]. Will gets the monkey flu and I expose him to it – I turn a sneezing kid on him so that he gets the monkey flu. So Gwyneth Paltrow is the substitute, and the kids start to all love her. So there’s kind of a rivalry between Schue and Gwyneth’s character.”
Carol Burnett is also going to appear as Sue’s mother: “We sing ‘[Why, Oh Why, Did I Ever Leave] Ohio’ from Wonderful Town, the 1950s musical.”

How do we know that she’s gonna marry a man just because the character is not a lesbian? People don’t always marry for love, and maybe Sue is in urgent need of citizenship in a same-sex friendly country. Just sayin’… 😉

I love that Carol Burnett is going to play Sue’s mother! Also, I like the previous person’s comment about marrying for U.S. citizenship. That could make for some very interesting drama – and it’s a very hot topic with now. Let’s say the man really falls for Sue, but Sue finds herself attracted to his sister … or mother! It’s a new spin on cougar!!
