Steve Grand recaps 2015 from his music to his travels to his speedos and a little tiff with Snookie
One of the things that Steve Grand does exceptionally well is make videos.
So that handsome and talented All-American Boy has made one for us recapping his eventful 2015.
His debut album All-American Boy came out in March and sold more than 10,000 copies in the first week, he released a music video for the song Time, traveled overseas for the first time and performed in Latvia, Lithuania and Austria as part of a State Department-sponsored cultural exchange program, played the NYC Pride rally the morning the US Supreme Court ruled in favor of marriage equality, was asked to the Marine Corps Ball by Sgt. Tanner White (it was a blast), and he filmed a video for his song We Are the Night which will ‘probably’ be out in January.
Steve also reveals that he got into a ‘minor verbal conflict’ with Jersey Shore alum Snookie at Logo’s LGBT Trailblazers event when he refused to reveal private details about what he likes to do in bed with men.
And then there’s this: ‘I get a lot of publicity for wearing a speedo then for talking about wearing a speedo then for talking about getting talked about for wearing a speedo. It was around this time that I realized that I probably needed to step back and not take myself and all the silliness of this so seriously and thank God for that because I have a lot more fun now.’
It’s clear that Mr. Grand is kicking off 2016 in a very good place.
‘I’m feeling better, more inspired, more creatively energized than I really ever have – at least in the last two-and-a-half years. I’m working on a lot of new material that I’m really, really excited about. Quite honestly, I’ve never been so excited for a new year to begin. These last two-and-a-half years have definitely been some of the wildest, exciting, craziest, hardest most challenging years of my life. And I think learning to survive – not only survive that but thrive in that – has really left me feeling more confident, more empowered, more energized and ready to take on the world than ever.
