Special performance and screening of “Chico’s Angels” next week will benefit LA Gay & Lesbian Center
For some damned reason, I never got around to catching a live performance during the summer run of what looks to be a hilarious show: Chico’s Angels.
But I don’t plan on missing this: The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Young Professionals Council on Monday, Sept. 14, is showing a sneak peak of the web episode of the franchise. The evening, hosted by Dennis Hensley, is a benefit fundraiser for the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center.
The web episode is titled 24ish. Here is the plot: Chico’s Angels ascend to a rooftop to face-off with a desperate bomber determined to blow up the Elk’s Club and everyone in the building. They must use their wits and feminine wiles to complete their mission or hope that dumb luck and a pretty face will get them through.
As if that isn’t enough, hunky Steven Hill (remember him from MTV’s Real World: Las Vegas?) guest stars in the episode as a character described as “the sexiest bomber ever!”
In addition to the screening, stars Kay Sedia, Chita Ford, Freida Laye and Bosman will entertain the crowd with a live performances.
The event will be held at The Renberg Theatre at The Village at Ed Gould Plaza, 1125 N. McCadden Place, Los Angeles.
Tickets: $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Go to www.lagaycenter.org/chicosangels for advance tickets.
