On today’s CBS This Morning, Gayle appeared to have said: ‘I’m gay.’

But did she?

King was asked about it as she left the CBS studio in Manhattan where the show is taped.

‘This is the thing: I didn’t say that,’ she tells TMZ.

King explained that she was joking about dating her fellow co-host, Charlie Rose, and saying ‘I’m okay. I’m kidding, I’m okay.’

Apparently she got a little tongue tied.

However it sounded, King was not making any sort of announcement.

‘If I was gay, I would tell you,’ she says. ‘I’m sitting next to Charlie Rose – I’m trying to get a date with him! Wny would I sit next to him and say I’m gay? This is so silly.’

King said that if she were gay, she would have shared it with the public years ago.

‘I have no hang ups about it,’ she says. ‘I’m not embarrassed or ashamed of saying it if I was. (But) I never said, “I’m gay.”‘
