Some people who share my birthday: Jack Nicholson, Peter Frampton, Charlotte Rae – and John Waters!
Yeah, today is my birthday – I’m 39 again!
I’m having a free grand slam breakfast at Denny’s in Hollywood with my pal Scott and there’s an evening of martinis and madness planned with some of my closest LA friends in West Hollywood tonight.
But in between I should be doing at least some posts so do check back.
Anyway, somehow I’ve never paid much attention to who else has a birthday on this day because, well, I have just always assumed it was all about me!
Ha!
But three-time Oscar winner Jack Nicholson was also born on this day and today he turns 79.
Then there’s Peter Frampton who is turning 66. His classic and mega selling Frampton Comes Alive was a huge album for me. Baby I Love Your Way, Show Me the Way and Do You Feel Like We Do are classics and I had a mad crush on him.
Also born on this day – 90 years ago – is Charlotte Rae who we loved as Edna Garrett on The Facts of Life and Different Strokes.
Last year she released her autobiography and wrote so movingly and respectfully about the husband she divorced after he came out as gay to her. They remained friends.
And finally, there is the great John Waters who turns 70 today! From his early campy movies Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, Desperate Living and Polyester to more mainstream fare as Hairspray, Cry-Baby, Serial Mom, Pecker, and Cecil B. Demented, Waters has done things his way.
