Snapped! Matt Damon on the cover of GQ!
Matt Damon may have a pretty face, but he has proven over the years that he is so much more than a pretty face.
He’s an Oscar winning screenwriter (Good Will Hunting), an Oscar-nominated actor (Hunting, Invictus) and a big box office action star (Bourne franchise).
Now he’s going the family flick route with the Cameron Crowe-directed We Bought a Zoo out later this month. He plays a widowed father of two who buys a ramshackle zoo.
The 41-year-old actor is also happens to be the new GQ magazine cover man.
“He’s done such great things with his stardom,” producer Scott Rudin says in the GQ article.
Rudin recalls how Damon turned his nonleading role in True Grit—the buffoon with a romantic streak, LaBoeuf—into “the beating heart of the movie.” There’s something about Damon—a melding of his talent and his public persona—that gives him a “compact with the audience,” Rudin says. “And he retains it, whether every movie works or doesn’t.”
