Snapped! Edie Windsor in the Oval Office!

This is a most wonderful photo that I had to share with you on this Valentine’s Day.

Edie Windsor fought all the way to the US Supreme Court – and won – to have her marriage to the love of her life, Thea Spyer, recognized.

They were together for 42 years before Thea died and as a result of Thea’s case, the court overturned the Defense of Marriage Act last June.

Edie, 84, received a call from President Obama from Air Force One when the Supreme Court handed down its decision and earlier this week, he invited her to the France State Dinner and the Oval Office to thank her in person.

The White House blog states: The thanks expressed by the President that day have been echoed by millions of Americans, including thousands of legally married couples who can now live their lives with greater justice and dignity – thanks to heroes like Edie Windsor who have been willing to stand up and fight for equality under the law.
