It’s true that Billie jean King and Billie Bean didn’t come out during their playing days but then again, no one did and even now so few still do. But BJK and Billy have made such major contributions to their respective sports in the years since with their openness and their activism. They are true heroes. Billy posted this photo of he and Billie earlier today and wrote: So thankful to spend some time with one of my heroes at the US Open today. Billie Jean King changed the sports world for all athletes, and has championed inclusion and Civil Rights for over 40 years. One of tennis all time legendary greats, she has made an even bigger impact with her humanitarian work.
