Andy Murray (and Faye Dunaway), the morning after

The top photo of newly-crowned Wimbledon Champion Andy Murray surrounded by all of the newspaper headlines about his great triumph reminded me of the one taken more than 36 years ago of Faye Dunaway.
Dunaway, in her pre-Mommie Dearest days, had just won the Academy Award for best actress for her performance in Network and posed for this classic shot the next morning, poolside, at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
It capped nearly a decade of memorable films for the actress which included Hurry Sundown, Bonnie & Clyde, Chinatown, Little Big Man, Three Days of the Condor, The Thomas Crown Affair, Towering Inferno and The Three Musketeers and its sequel.
Her career never really recovered after her over-the-top performance of Joan Crawford but it is a camp classic. And Dunaway did go on to win an Emmy and two Golden Globes for TV performances and has made occasional good movies such as Don Juan DiMarco with Marlon Brando and Johnny Depp and Barfly opposite Mickey Rourke.
