Sir Ian McKellen outs “The Hobbit” co-stars?
It’s getting a bit tough to keep up with all of this outing business in recent days.
In this case, it doesn’t involve anyone named Aaron!
A 2012 interview Sir Ian McKellen gave to a German publication has surfaced and in it, the openly gay actor seems to be outing two of his castmates from The Hobbit movies.
McKellen said: “Just look only how many openly gay actors in the Hobbit with were: two of the dwarves, to Luke Evans, Stephen Fry, Lee Pace. In The Lord of the Rings I was the only one next to it there was my make-up artist and one from the wardrobe team. That’s only once a progress, right?”
Evans doesn’t come as a total surprise since as a young actor he spoke about being gay to The Advocate. But since then, he’s been more tight-lipped – especially as his career has continued to rise.
Fry is openly gay but Pace has never made any public comments about his sexuality.

Robert Kabwe says:
People have every right to stay in the closet if they want to (or feel they NEED to) but it takes its toll on themselves and society. It deprives a generation of gay role models, it’s exhausting, and the silence creates an environment where being gay continues to be labeled a shameful secret.
I’ve met many people who were absolutely sure they’d lose everything if they came out (I was told the same thing by several friends before I did) but in every circumstance it just led to friends and family learning to overcome their own prejudices because they now knew and loved someone who was gay (and to be honest for most people it just wasn’t a big deal). Imagine how many more people in the world could learn to overcome their bigotry if they realized how many LGBT people are all around them.

After the 4th hour of the Lord of the Ring movies, I was pretty tired of the Underworld or whatever they call Hobbit Land. And everyone knows Luke Evans is gay.
Dee says:
Okay..seriously people! It’s no one’s bloody business whether or not actors are gay or straight etc! Secondly…Ian CLEARLY stated the actors are OPENLY gay..which means they can’t possibly be in the closet! Which rules out all of the 12 dwarves excluding Adam, because he is openly gay! You can’t be “OPENLY” gay AND “in the closet” at the same time. Morons
