Showtune Sunday: When a post-divorce Sonny & Cher joyfully reunited on television

I love these videos from 1976 and 1977 because they show Cher and Sonny Bono at a period in their partnership where the joy of performing together has never been more apparent.

Their original variety show went off the air in 1974 when they divorced. Sonny came back with his own show which bombed. Then Cher had a solo show that did far better.

But she was married to Gregg Allman and was pregnant and asked Sonny to team up with her again.

By this time, she is her own woman and her joy is apparent in these clips.

Love their energy and chemistry during this period. They really were magic together.
