Showtune Sunday: Three classics from Dolly Parton!
After seeing the film Hollywood to Dollywood at Outfest yesterday, I’ve had Dolly Parton songs inside my head just wanting to burst out.
The movie has 15 Parton songs as part of its soundtrack which makes the film about gay twins Larry Lane and Gary Lane’s cross-country journey to deliver a movie script they wrote for their idol all the more special.
Dolly will be performing at The Hollywood Bowl next weekend – the Lanes plan to attend both nights – and no doubt will be singing the three classics I’ve included here: Jolene, Coat of Many Colors and I Will Always Love You.
