Showtune Sunday: Mama Rose on Mother’s Day!

Who better to mark Mother’s Day with than a bunch of our beloved Mama Rose’s from Gypsy.

They’re all here in one way or another from Merman, Lansbury and Daly to Bernadette, Bette and Miss LuPone.

Also included in the Some People compilation are contributions from such greats as Judy and Liza, Linda Lavin and Betty Buckley.

The third video is Midler’s Rose’s Turn.

There are those who believe this is the best ever. I think its hard to top Merman’s version on the cast recording but Bette does act out the song powerfully.

Can’t wait until we can add Barbra Streisand to this mix!
