Showtune Sunday: Julie Andrews sings songs from her Broadway hits “Camelot” and “My Fair Lady”
With a stellar film career that includes The Sound of Music, Victor/Victoria and her Oscar winning performance in Mary Poppins, it’s hard to believe that Julie Andrews could have added to more classic musicals to her film resume: My Fair Lady and Camelot. (She’s pictured with her Camelot leading man Richard Burton, right)
Instead, we only have her Broadway soundtracks of these musicals to enjoy.
At the 1991 Tonys, Miss Andrews performed a medley of songs from her Broadway hits.
BONUS VIDEOS: I love this video of Miss Andrews and her great friend Carol Burnett when they presented together at the 1999 Tony Awards. I’ve also included the opening number from their 1989 TV special Julie & Carol: Together Again. It was their third special together and aired in 1989.
