Showtune Sunday: It’s all about the great EGOT Rita Moreno on her 85th birthday

I’ll never forget back in 2009 I was scheduled to interview Rita Moreno and a friend of mine, knowing this, kept singing Miss Moreno’s heavily accented version of Everything’s Coming Up Roses from The Ritz. Each time, I completely busted up. Then when I interviewed Miss Moreno, I told her about it and without missing a beat, she launched right into it:

Almost fell out of my chair.

Well today, the legendary entertainer turns 85 and she is still going so strong. Over the summer at a benefit, I saw her perform Somewhere from West Side Story – partially in Spanish – and it was so special and lovely.
