Showtune Sunday: Bob Hope duets on “Silver Bells” with Marie, Olivia, Reba and wife Delores
I don’t think I ever missed one of Bob Hope’s NBC Christmas Specials.
One of the fun traditions was that he would sing Silver Bells with a female guest each year ranging from Dixie Carter to Donna Mills, Loretta Swit to Barbara Eden and so many more.
But I think my favorite of all was when he sang with his wife Delores Hope who was a wonderful singer – gorgeous voice.
Here is Bob with Delores as well as Olivia Newton-John, Marie Osmond and Reba McIntire.
And as an added bonus, Bob singing the song with Marilyn Maxwell in the scene from the 1951 film The Lemon Drop Kid.

Thanks,Greg, We never missed the Bob Hope Xmas specials either. But out of all of his career achievements the one I remember the best is the year he hosted the Oscars and joked that the Oscars in his house was known as Passover.

I remember a lovely duet performed by them years ago at the Crosby clam bake after the golf tournament moved to Clemmons, NC. He spoiled the evening for me however when he told a fag joke on stage at Groves Stadium. He could be a real jerk. A few years before that, he told the Tonight Show audience how much he loved performing in black face.
