Showtune Sunday: Betty Buckley sings “Meadowlark,” “Some People” and “As If We Never Said Goodbye”
Am beside myself with giddy anticipation at the prospect of seeing Betty Buckley at the Ahmanson Theatre this summer in Grey Gardens.
The great star, whose Broadway credits include Cats, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Sunset Boulevard and Triumph of Love, is such a brilliant performer.
I could just watch videos of her sing all day.
Take a look at these and ask yourself, “Is there anyone else who can deliver a number this way?”
It’s just such a beautiful thing.

one of the happiest experiences of my life was seeing Betty Buckley in “Sunset Boulevard” in London! there was an unexpected surprise with her. i became reacquainted with the incredible John Barrowman. he grew up in Joliet & i was familiar with the summer workshops he did about theater with kids at his high school. not sure he still does them because he’s so busy.
