Tyne Daly is a national treasure who has been dazzling us on stage and screen for many decades. The multi-Emmy winner and Tony winner turned 80 yesterday and deserves to be celebrated!

Audiences who know Miss Daly best for her long-running and Emmy winning roles on Cagney & Lacey and Judging Amy (plus two years and another Emmy for Christy) may not be fully aware of what a Broadway diva she is. Her Tony Award is for her performance as Mama Rose in the second revival of Gypsy.

I love watching her sing because she’s such a great actress and is never merely singing. She is delivering a full performance.
