Showtune Sunday: All about the unsinkable Debbie Reynolds on her 80th birthday!
It was so much fun looking through videos of Debbie Reynolds and trying to settle on a handful to share with you today – her 80th birthday.
Talk about showbiz survivors!
Whether she was in her big movie star phase (Singin’ In the Rain, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, Tammy and the Bachelor), working tirelessly on the stage (Irene, Woman of the Year on Broadway and her one-woman show inn Vegas and everywhere else), or being a beloved icon on television (Will & Grace) and film (Mother, In & Out, Halloweentown franchise) in recent years, this is one hard-working woman.
We have been so blessed to have been able to enjoy her immense talents since she became a star 60 years ago in Singin’ In the Rain.
Here are some Debbie Reynolds musical performances from throughout the decades. I especially love her duet with daughter Carrie Fisher on Oprah last year and her duet with the late Bobby Van from 1953’s The Affairs of Dobie Gillis.
Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Debbie!
Would like to mention her amazing foresight,in rescuing the incredible costumes and memorabilia from the MGM auction in 1970.
I so wish that her dream of an amazing Hollywood Motion Picture Museum would have come true. But the lady did very well at her Historic Hollywood Auction.
