Showtime to re-air full seasons of “Queer as Folk” and “The L Word” during Gay Pride Month

Okay, let’s be honest here: I never watched a single episode of The L Word.

But I know plenty of people did and the show’s huge fan base will be happy to know that Showtime will re-air seasons of the landmark lesbian drama as well as seasons of Queer as Folk.

It’s all part of Gay Pride Month which is in June.

As far as Queer as Folk goes, that was the reason I had Showtime and I watched each episode, each season, as they aired because this was in the pre-binge watching days.

But there was one exception: My friend Tim, who sadly has since died, got ahold of season 5 DVDs before the episodes had aired and we got together with some of his friends at his house in Santa Monica and had a marathon.

Great viewing, terrific margaritas and homemade pizza.

But I digress.

All seasons of both shows will air on SHOWTIME® SHOWCASE from June through November.

From June 2nd through June 30th, back-to-back episodes of both series will be offered Monday through Friday at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Then, starting on July 3rd, back-to-back episodes will air every Thursday night through November 13th.

Subscribers can also catch up on the full five seasons of Queer as Folk and the six seasons of The L Word on SHOWTIME ON DEMAND® and the network’s authenticated service SHOWTIME ANYTIME® starting this summer.

Viewers can expect more from The L Word executive producer and creator Ilene Chaiken in the form of a documentary which will premiere on SHOWTIME this summer.

I urge you to watch The L Word. It was a great series. My Schnauzer Skye and I would watch it together. I think she was a lesbian!

  2. Don’t be fooled! Unfortunately the Showtime re-airing is the crappy Netflix version with the crappy replacement music rather than the classic original music that aired back in the day. My suggestion, buy, rent or steal the DVDs and get the real experience as it was meant to be seen (and heard)!
