Sherri Shepherd thinks gays are going to hell: “I might not agree with your lifestyle but I love you”
Sherri Shepherd, who once thought the Earth was flat, has done an interview meant to make clear that she is not a homophobe.
She seems to have made things worse judging from the comments I’ve been reading under the article I posted over at Gay Star News.
She says in part: “I think people feel I’m very judgmental. I think people feel I’m very homophobic. If they knew me, and knew my heart. … You grow up being a Christian and you grow up believing homosexuality is a sin; you’re going to hell if you’re a homosexual. This is something that they teach in churches. So it’s something that I grew up believing.”
“I might not agree with your lifestyle, but I love you,” she added. “You may not agree with my lifestyle, but you love me.”

You’ve got to wonder if The View is going to have another vacancy soon.

Sherri, you might be stupid, and I don’t really care about you, but I don’t love you.

Dead as a doornail from the neck up. Bless her heart.
FAEN says:
You’re right Sherri, I don’t agree with your black lifestyle either. See how idiotic that sounds?
JR McMillan says:
I just lost a lot of respect for Sherri Shepherd. I am soooo tired of hearing the excuse that people were “brought up” a certain way. Has she not heard that same tired line to defend prejudice against blacks? Also tired of people waving their bibles around to defend their views. You are not christians in ANY sense of the word. Try listening to your Pope…he seems to be the only one who understands your basic teachings…
FAEN says:
@JR-well said.
Jimmy Short says:
Why would someone choose to be gay? To be discriminated against, ridiculed by friends & co-workers, rejected by their family, told they are going to hell by the church, subjected to beatings by gay bashers, etc. There will be cases where people experiment with same sex encounters, but you can’t teach people to be gay or not gay for a lifetime. For those that state being gay is a choice, does that mean at one point in your own lives, you too had feelings for the same sex, but decided to be straight instead? Thus every single person in the world must come to this same point in their lives, then make the choice like gay people did? America was founded on the concept that the majority should rule, but the rights of minorities should be protected. It’s the main reason we have a Bill of Rights as well as anti-slavery & equal protection amendments. She’s pathetic.
Hank Scott says:
As HL Mencken famously said: No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public. ABC apparently understands that all too well as do religious organizations

Yet another ignorant stupid comment from a another bible thumping hypocrite. This from a “jesus fearing” women who admits to multiple abortions, slept with lots of men, has never read a newspaper or book other then the bible, doesn’t believe in evolution and still thinks the world might be flat cause there really is no real proof that it isn’t. She also does not know when to shut up on the view. With Joy (the only one who would confront her) gone the show has become unwatchable.
Joe says:
Thank you, Jimmy Short, for your excellent post.
I have never been able to stomach Sherri Shepherd. She’s as dumb as a box of rocks.
Now, I’m definitely pro-choice, but Ms. Shepherd has admitted to a whole lot of abortions. I think when Ms. Shepherd used abortions as a form of continued birth control, I guess that’s okay in her church and religion of choice.
I am so very sick and tired of people saying “lifestyle” or “being gay is a choice.” Anyhow, I hope this a career-killer for Shepherd. If I never see her or hear her name again it would be too soon. It always amazes me how someone with so little talent and hardly any brains can make so much money. Oh, and one last thing, and in my best Baby Jane voice, “But Sherri you *ARE* a homophobe, you *ARE.* It’s so funny when an idiot says that she isn’t a homophobe…but all gay people are going to hell. For a lot of gay people, hell is right here on earth dealing with your friggin’ stupidity and bigotry every single day.
Larry says:
And Sherri actually wonders why black men like me aren’t jumping up and down to tell anyone that we’re gay, maybe it’s because of bigots like you Sherri.
Gaspar Marino says:
All I can say is le in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. The Bible says no pre marital sex, no divorce, no birth control…a whole lot of no’s that Miss Sheri indulged in herself. How can I put it nicely…I don’t condone your lifestyle either…hypocrite.
babbitty lil' snob says:
Oh Sherri, Sherri, Sherri….as my very smart and loving Christian Grandmother used to say, “Honey, strive to be a blessing to people, so you won’t be a curse to God when he finally does meet you. You just might be surprised by who you’ll run into up in heaven.” Sherri, you’re old enough now to start opening your heart and stop carrying around the un-Christian views that were indoctrinated into you pea-brain when you were a child!!
