See ‘Will & Grace’ cast in a new mini-episode complete with musical number from ‘Sunset Boulevard’

It seemed a bit over-the-top last week when NBC began previewing its upcoming preview for Will & Grace.

But it turns out the network really was previewing something very special: A mini-episode that includes a musical number.

Will & Grace cast members Megan Mullally (Karen), Eric McCormack (Will), Debra Messing (Grace), and Sean Hayes (Jack) re-inhabit their old TV alter egos in a sketch that has Messing hesitant to participate in NBC’s reboot of the classic sitcom.

It of course takes a full-scale musical number – As If We Never Said Goodbye from Sunset Boulevard – to convince her.

NBC has ordered 12 new episodes of the gay-themed comedy which originally aired on the network from 1998 through 2006.
