See Steve Grand’s entire interview with Larry King
As CNN prepares to end Piers Morgan Now after three years, you kind of wonder why they got rid of Larry Ling Live in the first place.
Larry may be 80 but he’s still a terrific interviewer and I often watch his series Larry King Now on Hulu. He has the same array of impressive and interesting guests he had while on CNN.
What I love most about his current series is there are real conversations had – thoughtful and interesting conversation.
Anyway, Larry’s guest yesterday was Steve Grand and I think it is Steve’s best TV interview to date.
He talks about his desire to remain independent in his music career which is why he has launched a Kickstarter campaign to finance his first full album which he plans to release in May.
“I’m doing this because I want my fans to be my label,” Steve tells Larry. “I was setting out to tell honest music and tell honest stories.”
They talk about religion, about family, about high school, and about realizing he is gay and finally accepting it.
I love what Steve has to say to kids who are struggling with being gay: “There is hope and it does get better and you will find your people. One day you won’t feel so different.”
Steve also touches on politics including the SB 1062 in Arizona and it’s nice to see that he’s informed and has a sense of history and perspective.
He’s a smart guy!

Greg! THANK YOU for bringing this to my attention! I swear, if it weren’t for your website I wouldn’t find out about much of the news in the community!
That was a great interview, and I love Larry King so much more. I feel something for Steve Grand, but it’s something different.
That’s just a tease. Really, Steve did a great interview, and I was so glad to finally get an understanding about the guy. I missed his GMA interview, and haven’t stopped to look it up, but hearing that he was interviewed by Larry King, I *HAD* to stop and notice. And those props he gave his Gramma Kay was sweet. Good luck to him. Oh, I wondered what nationality Steve hailed from, and he mentioned Polish. Wouldn’t you agree: aren’t there SO many Eastern European men who are just delicious?
