it was an absolute treat in the 1980s to be a tennis fan and get to see two of the greatest champions in the history of the game regularly square off in the finals of the biggest tournaments.

Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova faced each other 80 times between 1973 and 1988. They each ended their careers having won 18 grand slam tournaments. Martina won nine at Wimbledon while Chris won seven at the French Open and six at the US Open.
