See Joan Rivers perform surprise wedding ceremony for gay couple during book signing in New York City

Joan Rivers, the 81-year-old dynamo, agreed to perform an impromptu wedding ceremony for a gay couple in Manhattan who showed up at a Barnes & Noble book signing for her latest book Diary of a Mad Diva.

Jed Ryan and Joe Aiello did not expect to walk out of the event as married men.

“While we were waiting, we were reading the book,” Aiello told Entertainment Tonight. “She mentioned being an ordained minister, and I jokingly asked [Ryan], ‘Do you think it’s true? Maybe she’ll marry us.’ And he goes, ‘Ask her.’ So I did.”

He then added, “I don’t think he really thought I would, and neither one of us thought she’d say yes!”
