See Dustin Lance Black on his jam-packed book tour for “Mama’s Boy: A Story From Our Americas”
Oscar winning screenwriter, author, filmmaker and activist Dustin Lance Black has been mighty busy in recent weeks promoting his new memoir, “Mama’s Boy: A Story From Our Americas”— his personal coming-of-age story where he describes being Mormon, gay and coming out to his mother.
I’ve compiled several of his recent interviews and discussions where he talks about his reasons for writing the book now and he also discusses his next project on civil rights icon Bayard Rustin, his thoughts on Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and in one of the videos gives wonderful advice to young LGBT kids.
There are so many horrible, thoughtless, morally bankrupt people out there with platforms, microphones and big mouths who are doing so much harm. Lance is the opposite. He pays attention, he tells stories, he puts his energies and his talents into making the world a better place and into helping us understand each other better.
I think he’s simply a gem.
