The Will & Grace alum tweeted a photo of he and husband Scott Icenogle, a composer, with this caption: ‘Here’s a #TBT photo of @scotticenogle and me getting married last week. Took us 8 years but we did it!;

The Emmy winning actor appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and on The Talk last month wearing a ring.

He didn’t mention the engagement on the air but upon spotting it, the site RumorFix contacted the actor’s representatives and confirmed that the couple had been engaged for quite some time.

The marriage took place at around the same time that Hayes learned of the cancellation of The Millers, the CBS sitcom he joined this fall as it began its second season.

He co-starred with close friend Will Arnett on the show. Arnett played newly divorced reporter Nathan, whose mother (Margo Martindale) moves in with him when her own 43-year marriage to his father (Beau Bridges) ends.

It had been CBS’s highest-rated new series of the 2013-14 season but that was when it had The Big Bang Theory as a lead-in.
