Saturday Video: Lucille Ball in all her Broadway glory performing “Hey, Look Me Over” from “Wildcat”
This just popped up and I love, love, love it. The only footage that has surfaced to date of Lucille Ball’s triumphant performance in the 1961 Broadway musical Wildcat is this TV performance of the show’s hit song Hey, Look Me Over. The critics loved her but were lukewarm about the show but the public flocked to the show which played to sold out houses for its entire 6 month run.
She did this show after I Love Lucy ended in 1960 and before the The Lucy Show began in 1962. This is more than 12 years before Miss Ball starred in the big screen version of the musical Mame. It’s also proof that had she been able to do that film when she was younger, it would’ve worked out far better.

No one could beat Lucy, don’t care how old she was! Sure do miss her.
