Saturday Morning Man: Jim Key!
When you have your own blog, it’s nice to every once in awhile feature one of your best friends as Morning Man – especially when he’s about to tackle the AIDS/LifeCycle ride.
His name is Jim Key and he is the chief marketing officer at the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
He will be very surprised to discover he’s today’s MM!
We always have so much fun together including last weekend at the An Evening With Women event at Hollywood Palladium. After the show we went backstage looking for James Blunt, didn’t find him, but ended up hanging out with Macy Gray’s son.
Since we both live in LA and mix in LGBT media circles, who would’ve thought the place where Jim and I would meet would be on a rainy night in Rio de Janeiro during Carnival in 2005?
Jim served in the Marine Corps and when Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell officially came to an end in September 2011, he shared his story at a news conference held in conjunction with the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network.
Jim has been training hard in recent months and will begin pedaling 545 miles – from San Francisco to Los Angeles – beginning next weekend.
It will be his fourth AIDS/LifeCycle to help raise money for the HIV/AIDS-related services of the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
I’m putting the LINK in here to encourage you to help Jim reach his $10,000 goal.
Every donor of at least $50 will have a chance to win a two-night stay for six people at a brand-new, rustic modernist vacation home in fabled Pioneertown, the former “old west” Hollywood set near Joshua Tree National Park.
Good luck to Jim on his ride and fundraising goal!

Nicely played Greg!!!

He looks good in New York and L.A.. Kenny Walsh thinks he’s grand as well, as you know. He obviously works on fitness , but I would love some of those genes. He also has what appears to be a sincere smile! Rare these days!

WOOF! Honestly the best looking “Morning Man” you’ve had on here in quite a while. Thanks for the link and opportunity to donate to a worthy cause.
Above all, thank your for serving our country, Jim Key!
Best of luck on your AIDS/Cycle trip!
