Sarah Paulson on how she snuck a sniff of Cher’s hair because she was too starstruck to say hello

If Cher was watching The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night, she may have been finding out about something for the first time.

Sarah Paulson was once at the same event with the icon and too shy to say hello, simply smelled the back of her head unobtrusively.

‘I was in her presence and I really wanted to go up to her,’ Paulson explained.

‘But I was too nervous so I went up to the back of her and sort of pushed my like between her hair and I just hung out there. I think she was about to turn around so I jumped and went back.’

So why is Paulson so in awe of the Oscar-Emmy-Grammy winning icon?

‘I Know most people love her for her music which I do but I think she’s one of the great actresses,’ Paulson said.

Paulson is pretty great herself. In recent months she’s won both the Emmy and Golden Globe for her performance of prosecutor Marcia Clark in American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson.
