Sam Smith, Jonathan Groff and “Looking” among winners of Logo TV’s 2014 “New Now Next Awards”
Logo TV’s 2014 “New Now Next Awards” were held last night in Miami.
I was among those asked to cast votes for these awards and happy to see at least a few of my faves took home some awards at a ceremony that will air on Logo TV this Sunday (Dec 7) at 8pm ET/PT and on Friday (Dec 12) at 7pm ET/PT.
The night’s big winners included Sam Smith (Best New Musician- Male), Betty Who (Best New Musician- Female), Natalie Dormer (Best New Lead Film Actress for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1”), Ansel Elgort (Best New Lead Film Actor for “The Fault in Our Stars”), “Looking” (Best New Television Series and Jonathan Groff as Best New Television Actor), Lorraine Toussaint (Best New Television Actress, “Orange is the New Black”), A Great Big World (Best New Music Group), Justin Simien (Best Motion Picture by a New Filmmaker, “Dear White People”), Gillian Flynn (Best New Screenwriter, “Gone Girl”), Bianca del Rio (Best New TV Personality) and “Hedwig and The Angry Inch” (Best New Broadway Production- Musical).
The event, hosted by Darren Criss, featured performances from Jessie J, Kristin Chenoweth (who received the New Now Next Forever Award) and Betty Who, who won Best New Musician- Female, and performed a duet of the N’SYNC classic “I Want You Back” with Lance Bass.

i will watch the show, but I have a question. what’s up with LOGO Tv? I thought when the station first aired that it was supposed to be about all things gay. All I ever see is reruns of Golden Girls or Buffy the Vampire Slayer with an occassional RuPaul in there…. I stopped watching this boring channel ages ago, but still check it out to see if they may surprise and have something on there pertaining to the Gay audience.. Never happens.. Just curious……
