Rosie O’Donnell’s got a new gig
Get ready for Rosie O’Donnell to start making headlines again.
The former co-host of The View has not had a regular gig since leaving that show a few years back. She’s blogged, released a few books, did a widely-panned variety special and had some acting gigs on TV and on stage.

Now she’s going to radio. It’s just been announced that Rosie will host a daily radio show for Sirius XM Radio Inc. Her show, to be called Rosie Radio, will launch in the fall. She will be discussing news and entertainment and have an occasional guest. She is said to be building a studio inside her guesthouse and will broadcast the two-hour show from there.
Rosie has issued a statement that calls her show “an exciting new adventure – two hours of talk show entertainment without having to wear makeup. Perfection. I can’t wait to jumpstart each day with millions of Sirius XM listeners.”
I doubt if Rosie foes Elisabeth Hasslebeck or Donald Trump will be guests but I’m sure Rosie will be pissing plenty of people off. I do hope that she will use this platform to start speaking up about LGBT equality again after being strangely silent in the past year as battles rage across the country.
Rosie said she was approached by the company after she appeared on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM show earlier this year.
Scott Greenstein, president of Sirius XM said in a statement: “Rosie O’Donnell is a powerful, dynamic and entertaining voice. Rosie’s fans will have the chance to call in and talk to her and her intriguing guests. ‘Rosie Radio’ will entertain, inform, surprise and delight.”

I hope she brings the blog back in conjunction with the radio show.
