Rosie O’Donnell to return to “The View” – as guest

Rosie O’Donnell is heading back to The View so Elisabeth Hasslebeck better watch out!

Oh wait, Hasslebeck isn’t on the show anymore.

Okay, well, it’ll be fun to see her and fellow funny gal Joy Behar together again.

Oh yeah, Behar’s gone too.

Boy, a lot has happened since that memorable day in 2007 when Rosie and Hasslebeck had that argument that caused Rosie to leave three weeks before the end of her contract.

Rosie, who will guest on Feb. 7, will return to a show that is still being moderated by her replacement, Whoopi Goldberg, but is in its last days with Barbara Walters on the panel.

Jenny McCarthy joined the show last fall and Sherri Shepherd, who was guest hosting the day of the O’Donnell-Hasslebeck face-off, remains a panelist.

Maybe Rosie can have a fight with Sherri over her strange comments about gay people?

Walters said in a statement: ‘I have great affection for Rosie and we have remained in contact through the years. I am happy to welcome her back to the program. She is always a lively and engaging guest and a part of the show’s successful history.’

Since her departure from The View, Rosie has released a memoir called Celebrity Detox, hosted a daily show on Sirius Radio, hosted an NBC variety special and hosted a short-lived talk show on The Oprah Winfrey Network.

On the personal front, she suffered a major heart attack in the summer of 2012 shortly after her marriage to Michelle Rounds who gave birth to their daughter last year.

Rosie is currently appearing in a recurring role on the ABC Family series The Fosters.
