I like Rosie, I despise Trump, and I have no feelings whatsoever about Mark Burnett beyond this bizarre idea that he was the villain in the piece. Burnett could not possibly have known that trying to normalize Trump and paint him as some kind of business genius for ratings and money – multiple bankruptcies and obvious idiotic business decisions aside – would lead to a fascist dictator destroying our country.
Does that absolve him of all guilt? No. But the real villain in the story was, is, and will always be the detestable Trump.
