Rosie O’Donnell shocked over Stephen Collins allegations: “He’s the Michael Landon of this generation”

Rosie O’Donnell, a victim of child molestation herself, expressed shock on The View today over allegations against 7th Heaven star Stephen Collins.

‘It devastates everyone in the radius of that person because it’s a shocking allegation,’ O’Donnell said of Collins. ‘For me, I always have my antennae up, having had a childhood with that.’

Collins, who played a pastor on the long-running TV drama, allegedly admits to molesting multiple children in a tape was released this week from a therapy session with his estranged wife, Faye Grant.

‘I can say as someone who knows him, it sounds an awful lot like him, or it’s a very good impersonator,’ O’Donnell said.

‘In my opinion, he’s the Michael Landon of this generation,’ she added. ‘He always plays the wholesome, loving, caring guy and in real life is that.’

Collins has not commented on the tape but career fallout from it has been instant. He was fired from the film Ted 2, will be edited out of an upcoming episode of ABC’s Scandal and reruns of 7th Heaven were removed from the lineups of TV Guide Network and UP TV.
