Rosie O’Donnell goes there AGAIN with Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King are gay comments

Rosie O’Donnell is gonna have to give this a rest!

On Howard Stern’s radio show this week, AfterEllen.com reports that Rosie – now also a radio host on Sirius XM – got onto the topic of the world’s most famous BFF’s Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King.

Rosie thinks there is more to this twosome than meets the eye:  “I think [Oprah’s] never been married and she’s exceptionally close to Gayle. I don’t know that [Oprah] and Gayle are necessarily doing each other, but I think they are the emotional equivalent of.. [a gay couple]. When they did that road trip, that’s as gay as it gets, and I don’t mean it to be an insult, either. I’m just saying, listen, if you ask me, that’s the couple.”

Wow. I guess I’ve been part of a couple with a number of friends – both straight and gay – who I’ve gone on road trips with and have been extremely close to emotionally.

It’s a stupid thing to keep talking about and an insult to all those wonderful friendships that are indeed just what they seem.

Gayle was asked about Rosie’s comments this week and was gracious enough to respond to the silliness: “The thing [is], if we were gay, we would tell you. We would so tell you. We wouldn’t try to keep that a secret because there’s nothing wrong with being gay. So if we were, we would tell you. The truth of the matter is we’re not. It’s hard enough for me to get a date on a Saturday night as it is. This isn’t a rumor I’m trying to continue to explore, but no there’s nothing, there’s nothing wrong with it.”
