Roger Federer reaches 10th Wimbledon quarterfinal
SMOOTH SWISS: Roger Federer has been the picture of consistency at Wimbledon, a tournament he has won six times. On Monday, he beat Russian Mikhail Youzhny 6-7, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the quarterfinals for the ninth straight year and 10th time overall. Although Federer is the all-time leader with 16 grand slam singles titles on his resume, he has not won one of his sports four major titles since the 2010 Australian Open – his longest drought since winning his first major in 2003.
But he was runner-up at the French Open less than a month ago and I have a feeling he’s going to win his seventh Wimbledon this weekend. Three more matches to go!
