Roger Federer dazzles with winning between-the-legs shot, makes sixth straight US Open final
When a highlight reel of Roger Federer’s greatest shots is compiled, the backwards, between-the-legs winner he hit against Novak Djokovic in the semifinals of the US Open will be front and center.
It was magic!
“I guess, it was the greatest shot I ever hit in my life,” he said after the match.
The day after Serena Williams disgraced the sport and shortly after archrival Rafael Nadal was blown off the court, Federer restored a sense of order by making it to the final of America’s grand slam for the sixth straight year. He edged Djokovic is three closely-fought sets 7-6, 7-5, 7-5.
He will face Juan Martin del Potro who rolled over Nadal. Federer has now reached the final of 17 of the last 18 Grand Slam tournaments and I’ve watched every single one of them!
My money’s on Roger to take again tomorrow. Here’s video of the between-the-legs shot:
