Rob Lowe headed to “Parks and Recreation”
Rob Lowe may be best known for his dramatic work on Brothers & Sisters and The West Wing but he showed great comic chops in such films as Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, and Austin Powers in Goldmember, Wayne’s World and Tommy Boy.
Lowe, who turned the Dr. McDreamy role that Patrick Dempsey ended up with in Grey’s Anatomy, had reportedly been in talks to star in a new hour-long ABC medical drama. But he has decided to go the comedy route with a recurring role on the NBC comedy Parks and Recreation starring Amy Poehler.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Lowe would appear in multiple episodes of Parks and Recreation beginning later this season and extending into next. NBC hsa renewed the comedy for a third season.
